Fashion East

Since 2000, Lulu Kennedy has directed a pioneering initiative “Fashion East”, a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to finding and nurturing new design talent in the fashion industry. Each season, Fashion East offers new designers a wide range of support including financial bursaries and the opportunity to stage a runway show for international press and buyers attending London Fashion Week.


Kennedy has guided and assisted in the evolution of Simone Rocha, Craig Green, Roksanda Ilincic, Kim Jones Marques Almeida, JW Anderson, Martine Rose  and has successfully elevated the reputation of the British fashion industry.  Nicknamed “fashion’s fairy godmother”, Kennedy is known for her sharp eye in spotting new fashion talents. In 2012, Kennedy received an MBE for services to the fashion industry. She was also previously Editor at Large for Condé Nast’s biannual Love magazine, edited by Katie Grand. She previously owned Lulu & Co, a line featuring the designs of those she has nurtured through Fashion East.
